Probes are designed for general purpose imaging and procedure assisted imaging at a variety of depths. The probes are ideal for the FAST (Focused Assessment with Sonography for Trauma) Exams and eFAST (extended FAST) Exams. Trans-vaginal and trans-rectal probes are also available. These endo-cavity probes use the same imaging engine as the Small Parts probe with a longer shaft on the housing. A variety of applications are shown to give you an idea of the range of applications and the image quality you can expect with orb's USB ultrasound probes.

    Perihepatic Window

The Abdominal probe is used to observe the kidney and Morison's pouch using the FAST Exam's Perihepatic Window, (RUQ). The Abdominal probe is designed for 4 cm to 20 cm imaging. It can be pulsed at 3.5 MHz or 5 MHz. The probe is also used in Primary Care to scan the kidney, bladder, liver, and gall bladder for stones and other abnormalities.

    Pericardium Window

The Abdominal probe is used to observe the heart using the FAST Exam's Perocardial View, The ultrasound probe is placed sub-xiphoid to view the chambers of the heart.
This view is used to rule our pericardial effusion, PCE, as well the proper ratio of the chambers and proper heart activity / rate.

    Pelvic Window

The Abdominal probe is used for displaying and measuring the bladder and observing FAST Exam fluid from the "Pelvic Window" position.
This sagittal scan can be used to easily measure the rear bladder wall, 3.5 mm. Pelvic View is used in FAST Exam, Primary Care, Urology, Long Term Care, Acute Care, and Rehab.

    Abdominal Aorta

The Abdominal probe is used to perform AAA screening.
This mid-sagittal view shows the first 10 cm of the Abdominal Aorta as it exits the heart.
Transverse scans are used to measure the aorta's diameter from the celiac artery to the aorta bifurcation.
Diameters greater than 3 cm are a risk.

    Pneumothorax

The Small Parts probe is an ideal probe for performing the eFAST exam to determine if a trauma patient has a collapsed lung.
The probe auto-positions between the ribs in a sagittal plane.
In this scan you can see the rib shadows, along with the "ant's marching" and "comet trails", signifying a good lung.

    Small Parts Neck

The Small Parts probe is used for Biopsies, Regional Anethesia, and imaging of small glands / structures. The Small Parts probe is designed for 0.5 cm to 4 cm imaging. It can be pulsed at 7.5 MHz to 24 MHz to optimize resolution versus depth of penetration. Small Parts imaging is used in Primary Care, Anethesiology, eFAST, and Emergency Room.

    Small Parts

The Small Parts probe is used for scanning glands and tissue for abnormalities. This testicle scan shows uniform tissue thorughout. Tumors or cysts will easily show as abnormalitoes to this normal unform tissue. Breasts, muscles, glands, and other tissue can be scanned to a depth of 4 cm with the small parts probe.

    Small Parts

The Near-Field Small Parts probe is used for scanning structures that are very close to the surface.
This scan is a cross section of 5 mm Varicose Veins.
For Neo-Natal Vascular Access sub-millimeter veins can also be observed clearly.

    3D Heart

3D Ultrasound can be used to display three-dimensional images and movement of a fetus, multiplanar imaging of the pelvic organs and some diagnostic medical procedures such as biopsies and enhanced visualisation of cardiac structures.
